In the prestigious setting of Ducal Palace in Martina Franca (Puglia, south of Italy), this evening will be the premiere of “La Donna Serpente”, the opera which officially starts the “Festival della Valle d’Itria”.
This year the Festival is celebrating its 40^ edition, an important anniversary with a full calendar of musical, concerts and artistic-cultural events. Among the big names of international music scenes, there are also many new young talents. This certainly is a confirmation of the long undertaken journey by the Paolo Grassi’ Foundation for several years, which opens the Festival doors to the external world respecting to classic lovers of opera. The mission is to communicate to the new generations the beauty of this world, the deep cultural values of “belcanto”.
As reported in the poster, the Festival will be in the Ducal Palace with the first two most important opera. The third opera production will be in the characteristics St. Domenico cloister, in the historical centre, followed by the famous “Concerto dello Spirito” in the St. Martin cathedral. We suggest you also the “Fuori Orario”, particular moments of ancient music both sacred and profane which will be in cloister, churches and now also in typical local “masserie” (farms).
A perfect cultural occasion we suggest you to not miss, specially for lovers of opera. At Martina Franca, from 18th July to 3rd August.
